Eureka Seven AO

Eureka Seven: AO (エウレカセブンAO Eureka Sebun Ei Ō, "Astral Ocean") is an upcoming mecha anime TV series by Bones, serving as a sequel to the original Eureka Seven anime. AO tells the story of Ao Fukai, a young boy who "sets destiny in motion again when he held the power." It will be adapted into both an anime and a manga.

On December 22, 2011 Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine announced that a sequel manga titled Eureka Seven: AO would be launched in their January 26 issue. Yūichi Katō is drawing the manga based on the original story by BONES. Later that same day, an anime adaption of the manga was announced, and will begin airing April 2012.

PLOT

The 13-year-old protagonist, Ao Fukai lives with an elderly doctor, Toshio, on Iwado Island in Okinawa. His father's whereabouts are unknown and his mother had disappeared 10 years ago. His childhood friend, Naru Arata is somewhat frail, physically, and requires an inhaler; however, she seems to have "yuta" power due to an accident that happened when she was very young.

A mysterious entity called "Secret" suddenly appears and launches an attack on the Scub Coral lifeform on the island. In his fervent desire to protect the island, Ao launches a certain military robot called "Nirvash" aboard a Japanese military transport.

CHARACTER

Ao Fukai (フカイ・アオ Fukai Ao)

Voiced by: Yūtarō Honjō

The series' hero. Ao is a 13 year old boy living in Okinawa Prefecture on the island Iwadojima (磐戸島) with Toshio. He becomes the pilot of the RA272 Nirvash. His father whereabouts are unknown and his mother disappeared ten years ago. He is the son of Renton Thurston and Eureka.

Naru Arata (アラタ・ナル Arata Naru)

Voiced by: Kanako Miyamoto

The series' heroine. Naru is a 13 year old girl and one of Ao's neighbors. She requires oxygen therapy. She lives with her grandmother, father, and sister, due to the death of her mother several years ago.

Old Doctor Toshio (老医師・トシオ Rōishi Toshio)

Toshio is Ao's guardian and friend.

Fleur Blanc (フレア・ブラン Furea Buran)

Voiced by: Ayaka Ohashi

Fleur is an IFO pilot for Team Pied Piper (チーム・パイドパイパー Chīmu Paidopaipā^?). She is aware of her prowess as a pilot and is prideful and headstrong.

Elena Peoples (エレナ・ピ－プルズ Erena Pīpuruzu)

Voiced by: Chiaki Omigawa

Elena is another IFO pilot for Team Pied Piper. She is a reserved girl who is hard to read.

Truth (トゥルース Turūsu)

Voiced by: Kazuhiko Inoue

"Truth" is a mysterious person whose true identity and goals are not known.

MECHANIC

While the original Eureka Seven featured robots known as "LFOs" (Light Finding Operations), Eureka Seven: AO features robots known as "IFOs" (Intelligence Flying Objects). The main IFO in the series is the RA272 Nirvash (ニルヴァーシュ Niruvāshu). The Nirvash was being transported by the Japanese military, despite the fact that they have not manufactured or allowed the use of such machinery.
